Beach Festival “Hoi An – Summer Emotions” is an annual event held in Hoi An city that has brought exciting experiences to residents and tourists for many years. One of the distinctive features of Beach Festival is a harmonious combination between cultural island and traditional cultural heritage in this area. The activities take place vibrantly and extensively at Cua Dai beach, An Bang beach, Tan Thanh beach and Cham Island, not only dynamic, youthful, and full of vitality but also promote unique indigenous culture.
On October 31, 2023, Hội An joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Crafts and Folk Art. This is considered one of the significant achievements in the city's historical, cultural and social development; a recognition of the city's ongoing journey of pioneering spirit; “openness”; and the innovation of a “global city” since the late 16th century, when it was one of Southeast Asia's busiest trading ports.
“Going to the Field Festival” - Cẩm Châu 2024 will be held to create an exciting atmosphere among all farmers before the new crop, which promises a bumper harvest. This is also an opportunity for farmers to exchange and share wet rice cultivation experiences so that they can harvest higher rice yields with better quality in the new crop, as well as execute and achieve results for the Winter-Spring crop in 2023-2024. At the same time, it aims to preserve and promote the intangible cultural values of the traditional profession of wet rice cultivation, as well as motivate and encourage farmers to raise awareness of the preservation of the traditional profession and the promotion of national culture.
On October 31, 2023, the UNESCO Creative Cities Network Secretariat designated Hội An - Vietnam’s representative as an official member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for the field of Crafts and Folk Art. This is the great honor and pride of the people of Hội An in particular, of Quảng Nam and Vietnam in general.
Celebrating the culmination of the successful year 2023 and the optimism for creativity and development that ushers in the new year 2024, Hội An city will organize the event “Hội An New Year Festival 2024” from December 30, 2023 until January 1, 2024, with a series of attractive activities to bring many experiences, connect locals as well as tourists from all over the world to Hội An.
On the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (on November 23rd), 24 years since Hoi An ancient town was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage (on December 4th, 1999-2023), 6 years of Bai Choi art Central Vietnam is registered by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity (on December 7th, 2017-2023), Hoi An city organizes a series of activities with the theme "Hoi An cultural heritage - Tradition, connection, creativity and development" takes place from November 21 - December 7, 2023 to serve people and tourists.

Since 2013, Wernigerode city (Germany) and Hội An city (Vietnam) have had a twinning relationship based on a sustainable urban partnership. Wernigerode is known as one of the Harz region's picturesque old towns that are popular for tourist activities. With many environmental, cultural and social similarities, along with the people's affection for Hội An, the two cities have decided to continue coordinating the organization of the 3rd Hội An Lantern Festival 2023 in Wernigerode.
From August 4 to 6, 2023, the 19th “Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange” will be held by Hội An city, the Consulate General of Japan in Đà Nẵng, and Japanese units and localities in Hội An Ancient Town; in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023), as well as continue to strengthen the exchange and cooperation relationship between Hội An and Japan.
Welcoming the exciting summer days, Hội An city will organize many fun and entertainment activities to provide locals and visitors with a vibrant festival season. The festival with the theme “Hội An - Dance of the Sea” will be held on Cửa Đại, Tân Thành, An Bàng beaches and Chàm Islands from June 16 to July 22, 2023.
In order to introduce the typical indigenous culture, the transmission values of traditional crafts and honor the creations of the craftspeople; Hội An will organize a series of events: Composition Camp “Creative Space”, “The 2nd traditional occupations' beauty”, and Fair “Startup - Green consumption”, Hội An 2023. The events will take place from May 12 to 19, 2023 and include a variety of interesting and exciting activities.
The 7th Vietnam International Choir Competition will be held in Hội An Park, Hội An city, Quảng Nam province, from April 2 to 6, 2023. There are currently 20 choirs registered from 8 nations and territories, including Vietnam. The competition's Organizing Committee is still inviting new registrations from choirs around the world.
In an atmosphere of excitement and joy to welcome the new spring, Hội An city will organize the “Hội An Lunar New Year Festival 2023”, with various activities taking place throughout the city's communes and wards to pray for a lucky, peaceful and happy new year to locals and visitors. At the same time, many activities for visitors to experience the traditional Tết culture of Hội An will also take place on this occasion.
“Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange” is an annual event that promotes cultural cooperation and exchange between Hội An and Japanese organizations, individuals, and localities. After 17 years of organization, the event has left the participants with many positive emotions regarding the two countries' strong and friendly relationship.
The event “Hội An traditional occupations’ beauty”, taking place from July 15 to 17, 2022 at Đồng Hiệp park, is an opportunity to introduce occupations and occupation villages in Hội An; honor artisans and craftsmen; preserve, create and promote traditional values in tourism development of "smokeless industry" in Hội An ancient town - World Cultural Heritage. Its message is to honor the cultural values of traditional occupations while also fostering creativity for the future.
The year 2021, a harsh and challenging year, is gradually coming to a conclusion. This is likely to be a year that evokes a wide range of feelings in everyone. In particular, Hội An city has been experiencing ups and downs, with residents working together to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic while also focusing on tourism recovery and socioeconomic development.

Since 2017, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam and Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam have cooperated with Quảng Nam Province and Hội An City to organize the event “Korean Cultural Days in Quảng Nam”. After the success of previous events (in 2017 & 2019), this year, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam and Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam continue to coordinate with Quảng Nam Province and Hội An City to hold this event. It will take place from 9-13/4/2021 with unique cultural, artistic and sport activities.
