EARTH HOUR is an annual campaign for the environment. It aims to raise awareness of the community and promote the link between man and nature.
During the past time, due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hội An was quiet and deserted. Now the pandemic is controlled, Hội An city welcomes thousands of tourists every day, and tourism has gradually been restored. According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2021, the city welcomed more than 146,375 visitors to Hội An (including 8,420 visitors buying entrance tickets) that proves the strange charm of a commercial port city known as a “peaceful place” for visitors.
The year 2020 has gradually come to the end, maybe rarely did Hội An city go through such a turbulent and difficult year. But also in those moments, affection and sharing are spread strongly among people without discrimination of gender, skin color, geography or language. From September 24, 2020, Hội An city officially re-implements the project “Town for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles”, “Night street”, traditional occupation villages and guided activities for tourists to visit Hội An ancient town. Along with the reopening, Hội An also offers a preferential treatment policy on entrance tickets to the ancient town, which is 50% discount on fares applied from September 24 to October 31, 2020.
Earth Hour is an annual environmental campaign organized by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF). The event is held encouraging organizations, individuals, households and businesses to contribute to the fight against climate change through concrete actions, such as turning off their non-essential lights and electrical equipment during this event.
Following to the guidance of Quảng Nam People’s Committee on the implementation of measures to cope with the complicated course of the acute respiratory disease caused by Corona virus (Covid-19) in Hội An city and Quảng Nam Province, Hội An People’s Committee announced:

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of Hội An ancient town as world cultural heritage site (04/12/1999 - 04/12/2019), The People’s Committee of Hội An city hold the running race: “For The World Cultural Heritage of Hội An” 2019.
After the success of previous events; this year, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam continue to coordinate with the People’s Committee of Quảng Nam province, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quảng Nam province and the People’s Committee of Hội An city to hold “Korean Cultural Days in Quảng Nam”, Hội An, 2019. The program will take place on November 16th & 17th, 2019 with cultural and recreational activities which bear the identity of South Korea.
“Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange” is an annual event starting from 2003 up to now.
