In addition, the country as a collective is nominated for Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination, Asia’s Leading Destination, Asia’s Leading Heritage Destination, Asia’s Leading Nature Destination, Asia’s Leading River Cruise Destination, Asia’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination, Asia’s Leading Youth Travel Destination, and Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) registered for the Asia’s Leading Tourist Board award.
Following the launch of the voting, the VNAT is keen to encourage all people to vote in the four main categories, namely Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination, Asia’s Leading Destination, and Asia’s Leading Heritage Destination, whilst voting for Hanoi as Asia’s Leading City Break Destination.
In order to vote, participants can visit https://www.worldtravelawards.com/vote with polls scheduled to close on September 24.
During the WTA for Asia and Oceania held on Phu Quoc island in Kien Giang province last year, Vietnam was honoured with four important prizes. The haul of awards included Asia’s Leading Destination, Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination, Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination, and Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination.
Moreover, 25 Vietnamese tourism agencies have also received awards in a range of categories, serving to affirm the attractiveness of the country's tourism industry worldwide.
Vietnam was also honoured as the World’s Leading Heritage Destination 2019 during the 26th WTA in Oman on November 28, 2019.
First established in 1993, the WTA aims to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence throughout all key sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. In addition, the annual awards have become globally recognised as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence, subsequently being dubbed as “the Oscars of Travel and Tourism” by the Wall Street Journal.
