The ancient city of Hoi An will host a lantern festival to celebrate the lunar New Year on February 9-16, thecenter for culture and sport of Hội An city told Viet Nam News yesterday.
Time: 9 – 16 February, 2013 (evening. 29th day of 12th lunar month, the dragon year – 7th day of 1st lunar month, the snake year). Place: Sông Hoài Square and An Hội Sculpture Garden.
In March 2011 INTERKULTUR organized the first ever International Choir Competition in Vietnam's history in the city of Hoi An. After the big success of this first edition Hoi An authorities decided to regularly continue the cooperation by biannually hosting the event. After the 2nd Vietnam International Choir Competition is hosted in Huế city in December 2012, the event will now come back to Hoi An in 2013.
In 2011, INTERKULTUR brought to Hội An the first choral competition ever to be hosted in Vietnam. It was the beginning of a new event series, which continued in Huế 2012 and which will come back to Hội An in 2013.
The third International Choir Festival will for second time take place in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province f-rom June 19th to 22nd, 2013, announced Mr. Thomas Schule, the Managing Director of Interkultur Association f-rom Germany at a recent press conference in Quang Nam Province.
The scene of rickshaws, old bicycles , ladies in “Ao dai” and “Kimono”, peddlers, …were reappeared in Hoi An ancient town.

Hoi An City in Quang Nam province has launched a Haiku poem contest in Vietnamese language to promote ‘Hoi An-Japan cultural exchange’ which is being held for the10th to mark 39 years of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan.
