Japanese tourists join boat race in Hoi An

Together with rowers of Hoi An old quarters, Japanese tourists experienced an interesting boat race on Hoai River, with the encouragement of both local people and tourists.

As part of the 11th Hoi An-Japan Cultural Festival taking place on August 23-25, Japanese tourists joined Hoi An rowers in a traditional boat race on the Hoai River.
Holding an oar brought f-rom Japan, the Japanese rower in a traditional costume looked back to the river bank whe-re his friends were enthusiastically cheering him before the race started.
Departing at the foot of An Hoi Bridge, rowers showed their determination right f-rom the first moment, creating exciting atmosphere for the race.
Joining the race just for fun, boat rowers still competed with each other to move ahead others with each meter.
Towards Hoai River Square, rowers skilfully steered the boat around the marking pole.

Intimate handshakes between Japanese and Vietnamese rowers. The Japanese rower said it was great fun for him to join the race 
Holding souvenirs given by the organizing panel, two Japanese rowers were excited to join such an interesting boat race. The 11th Hoi An-Japan Cultural Festival concluded on August 25th with the evening ceremony themed “Goodbye to Friends” in the old quarters. During this exchange, there were traditional craft performances, Samurai sword demonstrations and other interesting events.
