Tourists, both from Western and Asian countries, visit Kim Bong carpentry village in the early mornings of April. They are eager to explore, purchase souvenirs, take photos, and enjoy hands-on guidance from local artisans in crafting their own wooden products.
Mr. Vo Duc Thi, the owner of a traditional workshop in Kim Bong, shared that Western tourists tend to visit his workshop from August to April of the lunar calendar.
Each day, there are about 100 visitors from both Europe and Asia. They come here to be guided by local artisans in making small and attractive wooden products.
"Before leaving my workshop, most tourists buy themselves souvenirs to take home, which helps my establishment earn significant additional income," Mr. Thi shared.
Kim Bong carpentry village sits by the Thu Bon River, a short distance from Hoi An's ancient town. Established over 500 years ago, it boasts skilled artisans crafting intricate architectural wonders.
Today, it's a hotspot for tourists keen on exploring its rich cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship, making it a must-visit destination in Hoi An.
