The iconic town of Hoi An has been named one of the top 10 cities in the world for 2025 by Travel + Leisure (T+L), a leading global travel and lifestyle magazine.

The announcement was part of the prestigious World’s Best Awards 2025, where readers rated cities based on diverse criteria including food, accommodations, cultural richness, nightlife, affordability, and overall visitor experience.

Hoi An secured the 6th spot with an impressive score of 91 out of 100, making it the only Vietnamese city to be featured on this year's list.

According to Travel + Leisure editors, Hoi An stands out for its charming blend of local and international architectural influences, picturesque canal networks, and the warm hospitality of its residents.

“Visitors love strolling or photographing moss-covered brick streets, discovering quaint cafes, handmade craft shops, and vibrant street food and nightlife scenes,” the editors noted.

The 2025 ranking saw a strong presence of Asian cities, with 7 out of the top 10 spots taken by destinations such as Chiang Mai (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Jaipur (India), Kyoto (Japan), and Ubud (Indonesia), alongside Hoi An.
