Hoi An International Day of Happiness 2017

On 20th June 2012, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 20 to be observed as the International Day of Happiness with 193 votes of member countries. Inspired by the Kingdom of Bhutan where its gross happiness index is even higher than its gross national income, the International Day of Happiness has an important significance in calling everyone for self-creating their own happiness and spreading it to people around based on love and compassion.
The ancient town of Hoi An, Vietnam has been recognized as a peaceful town which has become popular in the world but not everyone know that right from its name showed that it is a peaceful land where joy and happiness are always shared and exists.
 


To welcome the International Day of Happiness, 20 March 1974, Hoi An city will hold many interesting activities for the locals and visitors, including free entrance to the ancient town for visitors born on March 20. In addition, every visitor has an opportunity to draw lots of meaningful gift when buying entrance tickets. At An Hoi roundabout, the photography exhibition "Happiness in Hoi An town" from March 15 to 20 by Hoi An Photography Club will help audiences better understand how people create and pursue happiness. The highlight of this event is the music show: "Love and Share" taking place at 19:30 at the Japanese Bridge area. Through this music show, the city of Hoi An loves to connect souls and convey the message of love and compassion to everyone.
Also, the International Day of Happiness symbolizes the full development and unity of the entire human race that orginates from the balance among economic development, social welfare and respect for natural environment. Hoi An is a destination where attracts visitors from all over the world and it is also a place of exchange among different cultures. The celebration of International Day of Happiness in Hoi An has an important significance in creating new highlights and inspiring the locals and visitors.
