Korean contemporary art comes to Hội An

The program is co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Quảng Nam province, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quảng Nam province and the People’s Committee of Hội An city.

Occuring in many famous places of Hội An, such as An Hội Sculpture Garden, House 66 Bạch Đằng street; Korean Cultural Days in Quảng Nam 2019 has a series of typical cultural experiences of South Korea. There are traditional art performances, introduction to Korean cuisine, traditional costumes performances, contemporary art music shows, with the participation of many famous Korean artists, such as Byeongin Lee Seungju, J-Morning, M.B.Crew and singer JinJu.
 
“Korean Cultural Days in Quảng Nam” is a significant and meaningful  activity to the friendship between Vietnam and Korea in general, between Hội An city, Quảng Nam province and Korea in particular. This event will contribute to promoting the beauty of Hội An and Quảng Nam to a large number of Korean and international visitors, as well as affirm the position of Hội An which is a place to connect the cultures in a spirit of friendship.
 
In recent years, Hội An has become a favorite destination for Korean tourists with an annual growth rate of over 45%. In 2018, Korean tourists took the lead in the total structure of international visitors arrival to Quảng Nam. According to Culture and Information Office of Hội An city, for the first half of 2019, Korean visitors staying in Hội An reached nearly 150,000 visitors, increased about 6,000 visitors from the same period last year. At some main attractions, such as Cẩm Thanh coconut forest, Thanh Hà pottery village, Korean guests still play a leading role, accounting for 60% - 70%.
