Closing the event of “The 20th Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange, 2024”

Sự kiện Giao lưu văn hóa Hội An- Nhật Bản lần thứ 20 đã diễn ra thành công tốt đẹp. Tối ngày 4/8/2024 tại sân khấu Vườn tượng An Hội đã diễn ra lễ bế mạc giã bạn với chương trình nghệ thuật mang âm hưởng Việt- Nhật đặc sắc. Các tiết mục sôi động gắn kết tình bằng hữu đã tạo nên nhiều cảm xúc ấn tượng trong lòng người dự xem.

In three-day of the event, Aug 02-04, many cultural, artistic, sports and entertainment activities excitedly occurred. This year’s “Hội An – Japan Cultural Exchange program featured a diverse array of activities, attracting a large number of delegates, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, businesses, artists, artisans and athletes from Japan as well as the Japanese community living in Việt Nam and a significant number of delegates from the Ministries, Quảng Nam Province, Hội An City, the locals and tourist participated in the event.

Mr. Mori Takero – Consul General Japan in Da Nang has a speech in the Opening Ceremony: “I suppose there is no event that brings many historical and traditional activities together like this. I am so proud of the history of cultural exchange between Hoi An and Japan, Hoi an - representatives this relationship”.\

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoi An City: “After the first successful event, the program of “Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange” was included in an annual cultural and tourism event of Hoi An. This is one of the special events, becoming a cultural destination “Extending a hand of friendship between Hoi An and Japan”, contributing to promote the traditional friendship between the two countries, Viet Nam and Japan.

The Japanese artist troupes from many cities such as Matsusaka, Niihama, Sakai, Nagasaki, Oda…. The Japan Cultural Exchange Centers, Japan Promotion Tourism Organization, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan Business Association in Da Nang, Takara Company in Japan and many other organizations and businesses such as the Opera Project Management “Anio Princess”, Takara Company, Yamaha Motor Vietnam Company, Acecook Viet Nam Joint Stock Company, Mikazuki Japanese Resort in Da Nang, Trường Hải Auto Corporation, HUB Da Nang-Japan… have accompanied and contributed to the success of this year’s event.\

Over the past 20 years, many things can be changed, but the sentiment between the two countries - Vietnam and Japan in general, and specifically Hoi An and various cities and localities in Japan has flourished and grown stronger. This achievement is thanks to the relentless efforts from both sides, building on cultural and historical traditions that have existed for hundreds of years.

From here, a new chapter in the diplomatic and friendly relations between the two countries will be opened, marking a new phase of international exchange and global integration as Hoi An has become a creative city of crafts and folk art.
