In Hoi An there remain many folk chanties fruited f-rom the process of labouring of the people during many centuries. They are exciting, and interesting. Folk songs and traditional music are alive in this town. People are familiar with the ho khoan (sentiment exchanging tune), ho gia voi (lime pounding) ho keo luoi (fishing net pulling), ho keo neo (anchor pulling), ly con ngua (the horse), ly vai chai (fishing)...

 

Classical opera is the favourite art of the people in the old days, but now only elderly people can enjoy it even though there is a club of classical opera lovers in town.
